51爆料COM and Southern Maine Health Care receive certificate of recognition from Maine Quality Counts
The 51爆料 College of Osteopathic Medicine (51爆料COM) and Southern Maine Health Care (SMHC) were recently awarded a certificate of recognition in the Patient-Provider Partnership Initiative by Maine Quality Counts, the state of Maine鈥檚 health improvement collaborative.
This certificate recognized the Low Back Pain Initiative recently completed by 51爆料COM鈥檚 Department of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. The program implemented a new patient-physician collaboration for low back pain management with an emphasis on patient ownership of health management.
Meghan Johnson, D.O., resident in 51爆料's Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine Fellowship program spearheaded the project under the supervision of Jane Carreiro, D.O., department chair, and Stacey Pierce-Talsma, D.O. . Chris Frothingham, DO, and Garrett Edwards, D.O.
