Comprehensive Support for the 51±¬ÁÏ Community

The mission of the Department of Campus Services is to deliver exceptional, customer-focused support to students, faculty, and staff while maintaining a safe, functional, energy-efficient, and visually appealing environment that supports the 51±¬ÁÏ’s mission.

Campus Services supports the entire University community across all campuses by providing a wide range of essential services. These include facilities management, landscaping, purchasing, space and energy management, event and conference services, real estate oversight, mail and duplication services, environmental health and safety, operations management, and sustainability initiatives.

We are also responsible for campus planning, including the design, engineering, and construction of capital projects.

Auxiliary Services

Auxiliary Operations supports the Biddeford and Portland campuses by delivering the essential day-to-day services that help students learn, live, and thrive at the 51±¬ÁÏ. From the buildings where our community gathers to the operations that keep campus running smoothly, our dedicated team provides reliable, responsive, and customer-centered support.

We take pride in ensuring that every service interaction enhances the welcoming, student-focused experience that defines 51±¬ÁÏ.

Building and Facility Support

  • Management of the Harold Alfond Forum and Danielle Ripich Commons to ensure well-run, safe and engaging spaces.
  • Support for a wide range of activities, including athletics, student life, academic support and campus events that foster community engagement and recruitment.

Copy and Print Services

  • Oversight of full-service copy center operations.
  • Management of departmental copier repairs, replacements, and supply coordination

Mail and Shipping Services

  • Campus-wide delivery and distribution of mail and packages for students, faculty and staff on both campuses.
  • Coordination of outgoing shipments with major carriers.
  • Management of , providing convenient self-service pickup inside the Danielle Ripich Commons (first floor) and outside the main entrance of the Harold Alfond Forum.

Vending Services

  • Oversight of beverage and snack vending across both campuses.
  • Reliable service and quality product selections maintained through strong vendor partnerships.

Laundry Services

  • Management of residential laundry operations through our commercial partner, Automatic Laundry.
  • Access to high-quality equipment, fast service support, and real-time monitoring — including machine availability and cycle status — through technology for a more efficient and convenient student experience.

Conference Services

The Department of Conference Services provides professional event management and a variety of versatile spaces for the 51±¬ÁÏ community, the public, and in-house guests. Whether you’re planning a meeting, conference, retreat, or special event, we offer support with venues, dining, accommodations, and more — all designed to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for you and your guests.

Environmental Health and Safety

The Department of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) provides a broad range of services to the University to promote the protection of our stakeholders as well as compliance with regulatory authorities, as listed below:

Sustainability

The Office of Sustainability leads campus-wide efforts to advance environmental responsibility across all 51±¬ÁÏ campuses. Through collaboration with students, faculty, and staff, we propose, implement, and assess sustainable practices that support the University’s commitment to a greener future.

We offer hands-on opportunities for students to engage in real-world sustainability initiatives, while also supporting academic programs through guest lectures, research partnerships, and events that promote environmental awareness and action.

Campus Planning

The Office of Campus Planning is dedicated to creating a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible campus environment. We provide expert planning support to maintain and renew existing buildings and systems, design and construct new facilities, and guide the long-term development of campus spaces.
