The Department of Biomedical Sciences includes 29 faculty members from various traditional basic science disciplines, bioengineering, and medical education backgrounds.

The department is dedicated to the growth of research and scholarship at 51爆料. Research strengths include the neurobiology of pain; neurological disease mechanisms; neuroimmune interactions in pain and stress; bone biology and osteoporosis; cell signaling; developmental neurobiology; metabolic diseases; anatomy; cancer; biomedical engineering; and scholarship around medical education and osteopathic manipulative medicine.
