Joseph Gousse is an attorney and legal research and writing specialist. In private practice, he represents injured Mainers and survivors of childhood sexual abuse navigating the civil justice system. He has also taught Legal Research and Writing and Business Law within Maine鈥檚 Community College System. His research focuses on tribal sovereignty, and in February he was appointed Associate and Appellate Justice of the Penobscot Nation Tribal Court.
Eric Hooglund is editor of Middle East Critique, professor emeritus at Lund University鈥檚 Centre for Middle Eastern Studies, and a presenter for the University of Maine/Farmington鈥檚 Gold Leaf Institute. An international expert on contemporary Iran, he has researched, taught, and written on the country for 50 years, publishing five books and over 100 articles, and has taught at institutions including Oxford, Berkeley, and Bates and Bowdoin colleges.
